The Apollo stud earrings are cast in silver or gold after an ancient Greek dichalcone, a bronze coin from the period 350-300 BC, Ionia, Colophon. Colophon was once the strongest of the Ionian cities and was known both for its cavalry and for the luxurious lifestyle of its inhabitants. One side of the coin shows a galloping horse, the other the laurel head of Apollo.
In Greek mythology, Apollo was the god of light, healing, spring, temperance, and divination and a protector of the arts.

Dimensions: H 1.4 cm, coin 1.4 cm Ø
